The time has come to replace my bike's original grips. Didn't give it much thought until I started shopping and saw that most sets run around $20.00 and up (WTF?). Before spending that kind of money I thought I'd solicit recommendations from the wise crowd at DT.

+1000 on the ODI-Oury grips. I like them because they have a very positive feel. I don't like a grip that is too narrow or small. Awesome feeling grip!!

I have Lizard Skins lock ons and love them. They are waaaaay stickier that the GT lock ons my bike came with. They actually feel tacky to the touch. These are the ones I have.

I too use Oury's and am happy with them... I will probably rock Ruffians or Rogues for my DJ bike though as I like the slimmer grip for that sort of riding.

like tires, I think grips are important, but no one gives them the props they deserve. A good set of grips will give you feel but plush enough to gran on to for a long ride. Id do lock ons vuz if you work on your bike alot or upgrade parts, nothing sux more then trying to get the old school grips off your bike...

the Sette are 10 bucks here:
http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/15690- ... -Grips.htm

Sette is Pricepoint's in house brand like Kirkland is to Costco...I can't vouch for their quality or comfort, as Ive never owned a pair...

I cannot say enough good things about the ergon grips.
I rode an old bike without them after using ergons for a few months and the difference is pretty amazing. No wrist issues, no hand fatigue, none of it.

If multi-hour rides are your thing, I would say to give them a shot. MSRP is high but I think I picked mine up for 20 or so at Performance.

Another vote for the Odi Lock-ons. I use the Rogues on my main bike, I think i have the northshores on my hardtail that the Flyin' Sloth rides, and Boo uses the lizard skins. Before you buy any one in particular make sure you "grab em", they have many different thickness's, profiles and textures, what might feel right for me might feel wierd for you kinda thing.

I use Oury on my Stumpy and like them a lot, I own a pair from Price Points Sette and I highly DO NOT recommend them, they are too thin and wear out quick.
I'm thinking on getting some Ergons for my new bike.
