Welcome allan, looks like I need to get a picture from my Willow riding days cause your like the 3rd or 4th Motorcycle rider to pop in here. Me and a few friends have switched from motorcycle riding to mountain biking to get our adrenaline fix. After a few wrecks and a few kids, taking the hits off the Track Pipe became too expensive for us. But damn do I miss it. 05 1000RR is my steed.

this is a great site for finding local San Diego trails and stuff. Enjoy the stay!

I can echo this sentiment as well. I'm just recently out of the trackday game and some friends hooked me onto this new 2-wheel habit! Was on an R6, then 636, then 04R1 and very briefly an 07R1. The wifey and I don't worry as much about me making it home in one piece, but I still get that hooligan fix.

My future wifey wanted me to give up the motorcycle from the start, but said she will accept it because it was there before she was. She will marry me but will not have a kid with me till its gone. I was fighting that one like no other till I got off of the fire roads at Mission Trails and rode some real trails on the MTB. I found a new way to endanger my life that is entirely up to me not someone talking on their phone on the road and it doesnt cost as much to boot. Im happy.

Glad you were able to come to this realization the easy way! Took 3 trackday spills with the last one being a 4th gear trip into the dirt at Streets of Willow for me to finally say, "Enough is enough." Having a little girl (2yrs old now) made me SOFT! Haha!

I tried to go out last month just to see if I still had the itch left, and promptly bounced after 2 sessions. I felt like Cougar in the opening scene of Top Gun. "I'm holdin on too tight...I've lost the edge." Its all good though. This new MTB hobby should help keep me a lot fitter/healthier.

OK, enuff jacking of deathblow's thread!

I don't think I can ever get the racing bug out of my blood. I don't think I have ever had as much fun in my life as I did while racing in expert class at WSMC.

I do recall you posting alot at Hypercycles at one time. Haven't been on there for a long though. Welcome aboard :)!
