So Sloth, DirtyBoo, and I have been talking about getting a Noble Canyon trip going. We could meet at my pad in Escondido and then car pool down to the trail. After we've hit all the mud and dirt we can handle we would then venture back to my pad for some post ride burgers and beer.
The question is when should we do this. Is it going too hot anytime soon? Also I'd have to get the time off from work so we'll need to plan this well in advance :)

Speaking for myself...I'm not down for the climb Noble tour. A simple shuttle would make me happy on this ride. Although, we are fairly late in the season for this ride as the heat is ridiculous out there. Another option, which is fun...not as exciting as doing the Noble shuttle is doing a big loop, Boo and I have done this on a couple of occasions and its a nice ride.

1 Park at Pine Mt Trail head
2 Ride bikes back up the road to Noble TH, go left
3 Hit The BLT around the lake back to Noble, go left
4 Hit the upper portion of Noble till Indian Creek
5 Ride Indian Creek to Pine Mountain Trail..
6 End where we parked

Its about 14-15 miles, total elevation gain is around 2400ft. I know...the elevation gain doesn't seem like much, but we're starting at an elevation above 5000ft, and we don't go below 3800 ft of elevation. So when your used to riding at basically sea level it makes a bit of difference. Its a nice ride, and for those who don't want to go full blown into the Noble canyon tech..well, we turn onto Indian Creek Trail before the techy stuff of Noble.

Just a thought
:)

This sounds good, I'll keep an eye on this ride, maybe I can tag along for the ride at least.

On the BLT itself isn't too bad because its mostly covered with a good breeze, so even on the hot days its nice. Yeah, I would say low 80's to low 90's. Its on the middle portion of Noble that the heat becomes a factor as there isn't any cover, and the temps are highr down there. The route I described doesn't get very close to the middle section of Noble, but there could be a little heat on a part of Indian Creek that we would be on, but not for too long as we'd be climbing back up into cooler weather.

But its not too bad on the BLT...the stuff at the higher elevation stays comfy, its when you start getting into the lower elevation that things get warm and exposed.
Boo has a pretty tough time with the heat.

I think a Nobel Canyon BBQ Fest would be a little over the top for me since this would be my first time. I'd much rather attend a standard Nobel Canyon BBQ, non-Fest.
