So, you don't know even if you'll be there, or what is expected of the people that do show up so people can plan appropriately, but we should go there anyway blindly and be on our best behavior? And it may be that no one shows up based on the lack of planning and information. What then?

Mike, yes I don't know of I can get off work yet, I'm working hard this week to be able to take the day off, align with go to a meeting mid-day about El Corazon (no idea what will come from that). No I don't know what CDFW is planning to do (I'm still trying to find out). People should plan to attend and be on best behavior. If I don't have further info in regards to confirmed time, then I don't expect people to just randomly show up.

I also know that CDFW knows about and monitors this site and "Ride it till they pave it" is a known statement and was mentioned as a "combative" statement.

I will say again, we as a cycling community are currently so far on the back foot we need to suck it up and do so e work in good faith.

Keep in mind, despite the history, etc, cyclists have no legal right to be out there. No matter how contradictory things have been, it's up to us to change our image.

Anger, disbelief, sarcasm, bitterness. All valid and understandable responses. So don’t go. But I hope someone goes...

Update on plan of work directly from Gabriel of CDFW. I don't know which specific trail or trails.

Again, if you can attend it would be greatly appreciated for anyone available to attend.

The plan for Friday is to trim the vegetation that is growing into the trail. I am hoping to tidy up the trails around the north side of the volcano. I will be meeting with the volunteers at 9am at the tamarack trail head.

How can fish and game “trim the vegetation”
on an illegal trail?

Gabe told me to my face, no hearsay,
no accusations, to my face that the
Volcano is illegal to all...... :flame:

^^^^ and people wonder why ex-users are so pissed at the total lack of thought and planning while "managing" the land here. What a total joke, and yes, I hope they read it

In hind sight what would you have done different and what would be the outcome? Who was really fighting the fight?

We need people to remain fired up over this, we are trying to direct it where it seems to be working.

We are being open that this is strictly to help build relations. If we fight and don't help, we won't improve our standings and we won't get ANYPLACE. Ultimately I can't say doing this type of work will help, but is sure as Hell can't hurt.

Then they should sign up here. I'll buy the first round.

Fair question. I would have ridden the area hard for the remaining ten months prior to it being destroyed for commercial use. I don't believe there is any actions that can be accomplished when money is involved. I do understand that Calaveras is a different scenario but my trust for boths sides is zero.

I am a fan of "ride it until they pave it"

So taking that the Preserve portion will never be paved in our lifetimes, or even Skylar's lifetime. How would you proceed differently in trying to gain legal access for this property?

Does anyone know if Title 14 actually allows for pedestrian access to the volcano?
