FYI -- The City of Carlsbad has a trail work event scheduled. They are meeting at the dam at 8:30AM.

Yep, I saw them pitch a big tent yesterday by the dam. I think mostly hikers. I road all the trails several times all morning (15 miles), but I did not see workers on the main singletracks. I hope they did not remove all the fun stuff or removing the rocks on that short tech climb just after the dam (near their tent). That makes that trail fun with a little challenge. I did see some peeps hiking on the Calavera Peak trails. Maybe they were cleaning up the ruts coming down. With lack of rain, it's hard to do any significant trail work.
