Good! All that open land was such a blight anyways. Orange fences are never a good thing...

Carmel Valley Site for 174 New Homes

The Southern California division of Taylor Morrison Home Corp. has purchased 28.79 acres of property in San Diego’s Pacific Highlands Ranch neighborhood for approximately $34.4 million, with plans to build 174 houses, according to brokerage company Colliers International.

Arizona-based Taylor Morrison plans to develop two previously approved residential communities, called The Elms and The Ivy, with a total of 146 market-rate lots and 28 affordable housing units. The site is on the north side of state Route 56, south of Carmel Valley Road near Carmel Valley.

Wait until Caltrans gets around to adding the northboud ramps from the 56 to the 5. It will be hell on earth on your end too!

Dood,

Being on the west side of the 56 sucks. Thats where I live and I have come to realize that if I dont go to work early (6:30am) then I am unable to go anywhere after I come home. Unless Im smart enough to pack a bike. Traffic is in all directions that I would ride, except PQ.

as per the topic, 'more space lost to housing', i thought i noticed some bulldozers on the south side of 56, a bit west of camino del sur, a couple of weeks ago as well. i seldom travel that road anymore, so may require verification.

Rode from Doug Hill to LPQ today and I saw they were just south of the 56 next to the canyon.

yes, that must be it. looked like leveling the land for a potential housing project.

what is doug hill?

i've been out for about 2 years due to medical procedures and am just getting back in the saddle. went with the spring canyon ambassador, canaan, several weeks ago to see what was going on there and realized endurance was a word i couldn't even spell without running out of breadth. have hit small ucsd and marrion bear trails a few times to get back, even spring a couple more times recently, so i've been out of the picture.

As I've been saying all along, we can't blame the big bad State or the DARK presence in the White House or even Agenda 21 (shudder). This here is simply a case of our City Council and County Supervisors continually writing checks for development that they have no way of cashing.

And now that the development for the most part is done, the developers have flown the coop with their noveau-bilionaire status, and left us hoi polloi to watch as our 'leaders' once again wag their fingers at us, and blame us as they mitigate with the only open space they got left.....our parks and preserves. And the trails the that go through them.

So put away the tinfoil hats comrades, we have been had by the very dupes and minions we voted into office.
And they sure as hell are not OUR representatives.
