Favorite Trails: I don't ride dirt
To start off I have no pics. But I learned some things being my first double century

1) Powdered sugar dounuts, yogurt, and and a banana is not a good breakfast before you ride 200 miles
2) 200 miles is a looooong ride
3) Pace youself
4) A 5% upgrade nomally isn't bad, but when it last 20 miles it sucks.
4) Advil is a wonder drug
5) It does rain in Death Valley
6) Bike fit is really important
7) Bring an extra battery for your light

I had a blast in this ride, My stats are here http://connect.garmin.com/activity/26407697 Not sure what my official time was but it had to be around 13:30. I started out strong and was felling really good until the climb or as I like to call it mind fuck mtn. It just never ended; it just kept going up and up and up. Kettlebell passed me on the climb asked me what I wanted to finish in then blew past me like I was standing still. My right knee started hurting on the climb and come to find out my cleat was off a little. Normally this wouldn't be an issue but when riding that long it amplifies it. Weather reports were calling for rain after dark and right on schedule it started raining as soon as the sun went down, it actually felt pretty good and just added to the adventure. I finally got to use my Magicshine and guess what? After an hour of run time the battery died. Good thing Carl had an extra battery, what a life saver. Now I need to contat geoman. Brayn_ECSD took some pics and maybe he will post them.

Needless to say I survived it and looking forward to the next double, any takers?
I have my eye on the Hemet and Borrego :D http://www.caltriplecrown.com/schedule.htm

I am but I paid a lot to do this ride so I was going to do it broken ribs in all. They actaully didn't bother me until mile 170.

My favorite image from the Death Valley double happened on top of the Salsbery Pass. Three riders were urinating on the side of the road. One of the riders was a woman squatting with her pants down. I saw the full monty as I passed by :D
