Favorite Trails: I don't ride dirt
Jose, Joey, and I headed out yesterday to ride the Cuyamaca Indian Creek Azalea Gleen ride: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=642 and it did not disappoint. Joey went after working a full night shift and had been up since 9:30 the night before and was fueled up on 5 hour energy.

We headed out and climbed East Mesa Fire Road until we got to the trailhead for Oakzanti trail. Here Jose got a bunch of phone calls and finalized his move to Fresno. The funniest part was him writing a phone number in the dirt with a stick. We had to go out to the peak which was incredible and the ride down was fun until I got a flat tire. Then to make matters worse my backup tube was a cheap ass Forte(performance) tube that the stem broke right off  , Jose has pics and I am sure he will post them.

Back to the fire road and out to Deer Park Trail heading to Indian Creek. I almost ran over the biggest squirrel I have ever seen, Joey thought it was a rock, it was that big. We took a much needed break here fueled up and began climbing. Joey took off on the climb until waterfall and was baffled that people actually ride that. Here Joey started hurting and I pressed on to the top, which is much easier after that section. I could only assume Jose was cussing going up Indian Creek but he finished with a smile on his face. Once at the top we took a left on Pine Valley Trail which is always a blast to Sunrise Hwy. Then the road miles began, which was a welcome break even with the few small climbs.

Going down whatever that trail was to the bottom of Soapstone is so much fun going down, and into the Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. We crossed the road and headed on the ST back to the truck. Wow did the creek fell great going through and I have never seen anyone go so slow through a creek so slow until Jose. I can tell you socal guys don't do that much.

Overall it was a great ride and I was feeling for Joey who was hurting with no sleep. The temp were very warm but not hot and the damn flies were a pain in the ass. This ranks up there as a new favorite loop and next time I am going to add a few miles to the route when the temps cool off, that map has soe stuff we skipped.

If you have never don this it is a must do ride.

First to make sure no one gets confused, THIS IS NOT THE SAME ROUTE WE ARE DOING ON SATURDAY.
What a blast, yes it hurt but had a great time riding this loop, Indian Creek was much tougher than what I tough, Thanks Eric for the invite and for waiting for me on every climb. Joey did great as usual, I can't think on a better way to spend a Wednesday morning, here are a few of my pictures.

Getting ready.

Where are we going?

Fixing his first flat.

It might not work with a broke stem.

Second tube, we had only one more spare for the rest of the ride.

At any good ride there is have to be some blood.

Wait, Eric, your bike has gears and suspension. What's up with that?

Yea I have one of those as well. Sometimes it is fun to ride but it feels like it weighs a ton a 30 lbs sometimes. It is about to get a complete makeover w/ new powdwecoat and parts so I'll porbably start riding her more often.
