I guess I'll start this one. It was a humid and sunny day and there were Red Hot Sloth, Dirty Boo, JJ the Whale, Jimbro, Singleminded, dfacerdm, and yours truly in attendance for a fun day of riding and sessioning certain rock features strewn about the place. dfacerdm brought out his new Ellsworth Moment for its second ride in less than 24 hours. He seemed pretty stoked to say the least as his new steed was treating him well.

After we climbed up Switchbacks in record time due to no breaks and the enormous pressure of riding with Singleminded (jk eric), we regrouped and considered our plan of attack. There were lots of riders everywhere which had me thinking the top of La Costa is becoming the new Cocktail Rock. We decided to go down Vista Del Mar and play on the wall. Dirty Boo crested the beast and would have had it but for a misplaced rock. dfacerdm hit the wall both ways on his new Moment, instilling some motivation in the crowd. RHS hit everything with ease as usual, and Singleminded hit it all with style on his rigid SS.

We went down farther and played on the rocks by the bottom, also mucho fun. We then turned around and headed up to the top after a bit of confusion as to the climbability of Nascar. At the top there were a bunch of riders congregating and talking shop. After a while we headed down and began to play on several rock features on the top area I personally have never considered riding. Singleminded showed us how and RHS, dfacerdm and moi all bit. The first rock feature, the mini wall was cake. The second, a couple of rock piles with a transition in the middle, was cake for all but me. Dirty Boo apparently captured this proud moment.

The play contined on a third rock pile by the nascar entrance. Again Singleminded was flowing, as was dfacerdm.

We then split up with RHS, dfacerdm, Jimbro and me opting for the nascar adrenaline rush and JJ the Whale and Dirty Boo swooshing down switchbacks. Nascar was the usual blast with only one minor pile up by Jimbro who dusted it off like it was nothing.

We regrouped at the cars, had some Smoked Indian (the kind you sip) and all in all it was a great day to be alive and riding with friends.

Sorry I missed out today. I really wanted to ride this trail again but My 22 year old son got dropped off by a taxi last night around 2:00am and woke me and my wife up. He was really lit up from drinking.. He can't drink at all.. total crazy person. I couldn't believe the cops in Laguna Beach actually shoved him in a taxi instead of throwing his sorry ass in jail. Any way family is family and I wasn't able join you all this Saturday so I'll have to catch up with you all down the road. The Photos look great. I dig the fact that you guys stop and work on riding sections of trail.. very cool.

Actually, the 4th saturday of each month we ride a different trail completely. In fact next weekend is the 4th weekend of the month, and it appears that the ride will most likely be blt/indian creek, pine mt trail...and also quite possibly on sunday. As of right now, there are 4 votes for sunday and 0 votes for saturday. It should be a fun ride, come along with.

Hey Sloth and Boo, thanks for posting up the vids. However, I can't view them. Got Quick Time, but when I try to open it just goes to the top of page. Do I need to install a QT component? Sorry for my leck of tech savvy but I am a luddite.

firefox is kinda goofing on them for me too. it was happening last night, but i assumed it was cuz i'm on linux on my home machine.

the best way to view them is to select the second link which is the filename and then let your computer sort it out.

i'll look into this when i have time...
