TR: Dos Mas El Flato Treads Por Favor...La Costa 7-27-08

What a fun ride it was today.
The Riders: Mike Kim, Jim, JJ The Whale, Dirty Boo, Red Hot Sloth....and a spotting of a new subscriber to the Dirt Treaders Site..."Panaracer". Fat What? and I ran into this gentleman the other day while on our "Huckin' Burm Jam" and invited him over to visit and he just signed up today...welcome Panaracer glad to have you here. We passed him in opposite directions this morning at about our 1 mile mark on the initial climb, he was heading home, we were heading to glorious trails, rocks, drops, jumps, berms and trailside repairs.
We climbed Switchback Trail and descended Nascar. This was where numero uno of the flat-0-tire count...it was dealt with swiftly by Mike Kim, he was like a Nascar Tire Changer out of uniform as he deftly made the neccessary repair. We rolled afew obstacles, dropped a few features and kicked ass on down Nascar, where at the base we came to the junction of Vista Del Mar Trail and headed up up up. Chatting and having a good time at the kiosk atop La Costa Trails and recoving from a couple good climbs we siezed the opportunity for some more photos. Once we were well rested we headed down Switchback Trail, bumping and jumping all the way down...but this is where numero dos of the flat-0-tire count comes in....what the?! It was again Mikes rear tire, he was shredding the gnar so hard his tires just couldn't maintain inflation.
I had a blast and I hope everyone else had as much fun on this ride as I did. When we got back to our staging area, we had some local craft brew on hand and yep, we took part in a tasting...just one cup ya'll, it was tasty, yet safe.
Nice to meet you Jim, great riding with you, and great riding with JJ The Whale, Mike Kim and Dirty Boo, thanks for the ride, it was awesome, I am looking forward to doing it again.
The pics are not quite in order as they were took, but I guess that doesn't matter.

It's a Where's Panda adventure. He's showing up on backpacks, in helmets, even on handle bars. Maybe the panda gods were angry and they demanded tube sacrifices.

I think this is the best Treader Report I have seen, beautiful pictures and great write up, the food looks so good is sure looks like you guys had a great ride. :thumbsup:

Thanks Baja, we did have a great ride today, weather was perfect, company was awesome.

Heck yea that was a sweet ride, sloth looks like hes just chillin going down that rock garden, and watch out as he flies on those jumps! Really awesome camera work too, especially those last couple in the store those are really dramatic! Haha slap yo momma good eh?? Good job guys! Oh and major props on that ale it looks really good, after our ride today at noble we has a couple stone IPA's waiting in the ice! Always the best part especially if your hurting! I ripped my big toe nail in half today, it bent straight up and I bent it back, OUCH. See ya!
