TR: La Costa 7-12-08

So Boo and I hit La Costa this morning, Seat Sniffer made a guest appearance. We arrived and it waas just a bit humid but bearable. There was a nice breeze about a half a mile into the ride, and the sun wasn't bad. The climb was nice, we went up the Switchbacks Trail, which..these switchbacks aren't tight, in fact they are banked and wide...very fun. So climbing was good, I didn't make it up in record time or anything, but just kept a steady pace. Once I reached the top, I perched the bike up on some rocks and did a little porn shooting...

The other pics in the porn shoot are similar.
Once we were all at the top we were chatting with a few other riders that happened to make their way up as well. A couple of the guys were locals living down at the bottom of the hill.....friggin nice to have this place be just out your front door literally. I only happened to take a couple more pics on the way down on our first lap, it was soo fun I just didn't really want to stop...Only one came out and I cut Sniffers head in half...

Well, Sniff decided he had enough when we got close to the bottom, and headed back to his truck. Boo and I were pretty fired up, so we turned around and climbed what we just descended which was either called the Horned Lizard Trail, or Vista Del Mar, I'm fairly confuseed as to the naming of this trail, because when it opened, people were calling it the Vista Del Mar Trail, but theres a sign at one of the trail heads that says Horned Lizard.
When Boo and I arrived at the top again, we immediatly headed down the way we orinally came up, The Switchback Trail, maaaan, going through those banked switchbacks at speeeeeed is sweet.

Sloth and I guess Boo, nice meeting you at the top today. I registered and now I'm on this site, nice work. I'm hitting Calaveras tomorrow am from the Carlsbad VD/College intersection trailhead at 9 am if anyone is interested.

y know, i swear you guys have "sissy mode" on your camera for taking pics of me. why don't trial features ever look as treacherous in pics as they do in person! :evil:
