After living on the NC coast for over 30 years, we exited and moved East toward Palomar Mtn seven months ago. Got a little property. Not much going on out here for MTB'ing as far as I can tell, so I had to start building my own trails (as some of you know).

It started back in June/July when the Bearded Wonder rolled up in his bus (the awesome Mr. Gabe Keating). He kicked things off and figured out where to start cutting and hung out back and forth for a few weeks to dig. If it weren't already called Sniper's Point, it would be named "Gabe's Choice". So a shout out and HUGE thanks to Gabe. Thanks buddy.

Yesterday, after about more than four months, the 1st trail is done (mostly. kinda. sorta). A few fixes and some improvements are in order. Gotta say, this was some major back-breaking work from what I've been used to for a looong time. 50 year joints, ligaments and cartilage are not a fan of this shit.

Still needs plenty o' work, but it has an entry, and it has an exit. I'm stoked.

Very nice. Good job! But I don’t wanna hear any complaints about how tough it is being fifty.

What you talking about Harley? You didi fall on your ass hiking down it. I enjoyed it.

Dan, what about 51 year old parts? :D (but even at 25 it would have taken a toll).

Tom, of course there is trail-head camping. Might even be free beer available. Currently, reservation slots are wide open.

Started with the Double Black Diamond trail I see. Don't think I'd even want to attempt that for fear of dying.

lol, I dunno about double black. That last bit is pretty steep, but it needs some more work to smooth things out a bit and make it more manageable.

The entire terrain is so steep that I don't think there's going too many opportunities to make a more meandering easy-going type of trail. As I'm able to build more, I think most are going to incorporate a fair bit of exposure - which is not my favorite. But it's what I've got to work with.
