I have not been riding much as I should have been lately. So I committed to riding the next 6 days without missing a single day. Unfortunately I am stuck at Mission Bay so my options are limited. This morning I hopped on my trusty Steed and put in 11 and a half miles. Heading out, the trail started rather undauntedly. But soon encountered heavy traffic on the trail and had to be careful. I passed by some endangered habitats. You have to know your Mission Bay history to understand this reference. Who said Mission Bay was flat. Tackle these Hills with great aggression. I had to manuel this to make it. In this technical section I had to cross the street without the help of any stop lights In one of the most techical sections I was mentally taxed. Go left, fight the man, and reap the rewards of sweet, forbidden single track or play it safe and keep to the beaten path. Either way the views were the same. Hopefully I can get some semblance of shape before the annual Bankerboy family Mammoth trip in August! |

Loved all of this, but my favorite was calling the DeAnza cove mobile home park an endangered habitat. I spent more early morning weekends out on that bay as a kid than I can count, and remember the history of that area well. Nicely played! |
