Went out for a "recovery"ride at Calaveras today, well, it's kinda hard to do a recovery ride withy Skylar and Luke along. Then when Sue says, "Hey, lets do the Volcano."

So yeah, not much recovery happened today, since we did a total of 1079 feet elevation gain over 9.17 miles.

It's good training though as I'm planning to do the Quick and Dirty race in 2 weeks. This makes 8.8 and 628 feet at Hodges seem like it should be nothing.

I was out there today as well. First time out there. Now I understand why people say having a guide is nice. :)

It's always a lot harder than you thought when you are doing it at Race Pace. Good luck! :bang:

I've got a bunch of GPS files from Garmin.

No need for a guide, just load the route and go.

^^^ What he said. Someone trying to follow a GPS file would be pretty fun to watch. There's typically an intersection about every hundred feet. Be sociable -- bring a few beers, get a guided tour, and get your flow on.
