No lift - no problem!

Last Monday the lifts at Summit closed down to get ready for the winter season (they are still open on weekends until it gets cold, usually early October). I was able to ride the lifts a few times this summer and hit most of the trails on my bigger bike. I went up there this week with a group of friends. Made some slight tweaks to a loop I have done before. Knowing we had to climb, we were all riding 4-5" travel bikes so I focused on hitting lots of good flowing single track rather than some of the more rocky and technical trails. It ended up being about 19 miles and ~3000 feet of climbing. Not positive on the elevation, my Garmin didn't agree with my friends, his said it was 4k+ but I think it was overestimating...

Up 2N10 from Bear Mtn Resort, up Pirates, across Speedo, down 2N51Y, down Dickies, 2N08 over to 1E01 up to Grandview Pt, all the way down 1E01, up Cabin 89, up 1E01, back across 5 Bitches, and down Pirates

It was a great ride. Still have about 2 months of riding up there - get in while you can.
