With proper planning, we could make it a church

Not church, I think you want a cult or militia, something were everyone thinks the same and has the same opinions. Militia has the added obvious bonus.

I'd have to ask you how much work and interest there was in Mission Trails 3 years ago and how much work and interest is going into the place now and politely point out that this didn't happen (in my opinion) without an aggressive approach.

My comment was purely meant to make a point regarding someone defending what they believe in, and not to get at you in any way. If it came across that way I apologize.

I agree with you that a more aggressive approach is necessary, and applaud your efforts. There have been a time or two that I thought you needed to backoff the throttle a bit, cause theres a fine line between agressively pursuing something and getting angry about it...... but I would rather have all of you then none of you on our side. (that sounded gay as hell didnt it) Phil you are a one man wrecking ball in this fight, and what I would like to see is you and others who disagree with sdmba's ways to atleast work alongside them and get the ball rolling faster rather than starting from scratch and forging your own path. We are a community and need to work together for a common goal.

Damn me and my soap box preaching. I got a truck at home to work on and Im still sitting at work. Have a good night all!

A friend has finally shed some light to this.

The information about the sanitation on Iron Mountain was purposely kept on the low down and purposely not broadcasts. Because of that i, you this community weren't able to help. Help what? we didn't know what was going on!

I'm not gonna name names but for fuck sakes the trail was destroyed. I think the decision to keep this community in the dark was in poor taste and not a popular decision.

Wait, .15 posts ago you were asking if not damn near demanding answers. Now that you have them, from a "friend" no less, now you are unwilling to name the perpetrators? And they kept all of us in the dark to purposely let Iron Mountain be destroyed? If this is what you are saying, then man up and name the folks.

Here is a perfect example of our community not working for its own good. Jason trying to get info out of us, not realizing that most people read posts once and then dont ever go back to it if its not an interesting enough topic for them.

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8579

Heres me moving the thread to have its own title so that more people can input their opinion. OCD and BKJ thanks for your input, and I believe there were only 3 or 4 other posters who commented but didnt really answer the questions directly. Come on people, this guy is spending his personal time trying to get stuff we want and you cant take 10 mins to answer his questions?

geez, just got back from sleeping through a 2.5 hr meeting and this thread went from 4 posts to 4 pages.

after scanning it briefly, a few comments

RHS, sorry, but you need to speak with bankerboy about that one.

actually, i guess i'm not feelin' the hate, and i don't see fingers pointing or blame bantered about. guess i need to take some sensitivity training or something.

i'm just feelin' the outrage. good first reaction, or it wouldn't gain any traction.

we're lucky we have this site to find out about these actions, and ask these questions. after we get the facts straight (cheers evdog and kevm), we're lucky to have volunteer groups like sdmba and mtblocos (more on that later) that do have a position of representation of our large user group and knowledge of how to interface with the city, because as bkj mentions, as an individual who would know where to even begin with this?

bankerboy wrote:
I think it would be good for you to bring your groups name into the fold. It will get it before the city council. Since TW in 100% in Poway, you may want the advocacy rep with you and the Locos. Just a thought.

bb batting a 1000 (although he would clearly tell you that correctly stated should be 1.000). if for no other reason to get involved, even though "the damage is already done", is to present the views of our large user group as TW is also in the jurisdiction of the same poway parks supervisor, bob hahn. it should be made clear, as i'm sure it will be at the next meeting, judging from the tone of the thread, that this is an unprofessional and unacceptable stance for the city to take. interactions with user groups (hikers, bikers, joggers, etc), and proposed actions brought before community boards prior to action is the proper, civil format that the city should maintain. always.

and bb is right hh, it might be beneficial to represent mtblocos as you've had positive interactions with the city, via CDF&G, over at TW. just a suggestion tho, let jerome do the talking. everyone loves a french accent.

....just an additional idea. perhaps guys interested in this, and TW so it doesn't happen there too, go to you local bike shop and tell them you would appreciate their representation at this meeting as a local small business, as trails directly equate to your business.

(businesses seem to carry a lot of weight)

actually, with you there's two.

can you find out when and where it is? perhaps give flyers as a gentle reminder saturday at your session. just not sure a lot of people are gonna commit until they know when it is, or you threaten to push them off a cliff saturday.

either way, assuming i can get off work in time for the festivities, i'm in.

Never said it but I have every intention of going. I was bummed because there was a parks and rec meeting tonight but it was canceled. Good thing as I have cubscout graduation tonight. I had to miss the SDMBA Sounds like it might be an interesting meeting. If somebody can post the meeting schedule for Poway, I think a few folks beyond the written confirmation.

Nevermind. HH got it up.

This is a lot to digest.

Has anyone been out there personally and witnessed said sanitizing? I'm not talking about your brothers wifes uncle who's buddy said his girlfriends little brothers teacher told them its screwed up and smooth.
I'm talking first hand accounts...anyone?
If so, I would like to see some pics, first hand pics only please...in this thread. Lets see them and post them.
And lets keep this discussion on topic please. The topic is...
...Iron Mountain Sanitized... not mtrp, not sycamore, not who can pee further than me...

This thread has some heat to it, for reason, its something we are all very passionate about. But lets make sure we are level headed enough about and with our discussion that we dont regret what we've said or typed.

If its true, the trail has been sanitized, its done and it sucks. I'm sure I would like to know the same things most of you would like to know, why, how long has this been going on, when was the majority of the features removed, because if its what people describe, then this is an undertaking thats more than just a couple days work. Who knew about it when it (the big work) began and why havent we seen it or heard about it anywhere else? I guess knowing this would just help me wrap my head around this whole thing, getting a definitive timeline as to how long this went on without anyone publicizing it. Im not being accusitory, I am genuinely curious as to how we could all be left in the dark over something so huge.
So...lets see some pics.
