Dirt Treaders :: View topic - Picture of the Day

^^^ We had a great ride today. We did sixteen miles of intermediate and black diamond trails on the Spicer Ranch and Transvaal trail systems (just a few trails out of many), saw no other humans all day, just wild burros. The Ranch has free camping on a grass meadow, free ice, and hot showers — just leave a donation. It’s professionally built and signed single track ( by the same team that did the trails around St. George), going for miles up, down and around, and most of it only 8-10” wide. Google (or Trailforks) it.

I rode there years ago. On my way from my daughters place in Big Pine to Vegas for a Rugby tournament for HPIII. Fun trails and burros.

Rode some really fun trails today — the Prospector and Church Rocks loops at the Red Cliffs, a little bit of everything from fast and flowing to slow and tricky.

Gold Canyon This beast and his gang came strolling through camp. Lucky I had chicken on the grill Earlier in the day I was climbing out of a wash up a pretty rocky, techy climb. There was a huge steer right at the top and I wasn't going to try and stop. Just yelled and lucky for me he had the same "oh shit" look in his eyes and quickly moved off the trail a bit. Passed him by 5 ft which was about 20 ft too close.
