You can read whatever you want to into this but I received a text from a buddy still working on the law enforcement game in North County. This is the exact quote I received and I did *NOT* ask any follow up questions...."FYI heard the head of fish and game is pissed how the SD chapter handled the issue at Calavera and plans on doing more enforcement out there soon".

Happy trails!!!

On another note, we were up riding Mount Wilson again when I received this text and let me tell you (was if I haven't said it before); if you haven't ridden up there, you're completely missing out as it's probably the best riding in SoCal.

No sign of Fish and Game in
the last month or so. But that
sounds like it might change.

Good. Have CDFW come in and keep that place quiet.

When he says the "SD chapter" is he talking about local F&G (Gabe), MTB riders in general, or the local representatives of the riders (Calavera Trails Coalition)?

Do they even know anyone other than SDMBA as a local San Diego MTB group? Either way, biking is still illegal there so they can do whatever they want. Nothing has changed.

As I mentioned, I was out riding Mount Wilson when I got the text so didn't ask any follow up questions but the way I read it, they didn't feel the SD office of CDFW handled teh enforcement appropriately. Why that is I have no idea. Maybe too many warnings?

Edited because the post could have been considered cyber bullying and in a far greater crime in the state vs what was described.

The only thing the SD chapter of CDFW did wrong was waste tax payers money with the extra enforcement. They also created a new road where one did not exist before and legalized all the trails made by MTBers over the years to be legal hiking trails.

A lot of speculation on this thread...

k2rider - would you be willing to follow up with your friend to get clarification on what precisely is the issue? Thanks!

Any Updates on this? I have not been on the bike in a few weeks part due to the weather and part due to sickness in my family.

I was out yesterday and the only truck tracks were on the fire road by the meadow, that separates City from DFW land. Looked to me like a small truck went through before the last rain and after the one before that.

Good tracking ODD!

Ran into the CFNLM ranger ( in a small pickup) yesterday just before noon at the bottom of the paved road from the spillway. He had come in from the HS entrance.

I’m sure you noticed from the tracks that he was a white male about 245#, and the left front was a little squishy. :)
