I know some of you are familiar with Sycamore Canyon in Riverside. Briefly, how would you describe it in comparison to Black Mtn. in PQ (other than the obvious temperature difference in summer)?

For example:

--Singletrack abundance comparison?
--Climbing (I likey)
--Friendliness to bikes (from other users and ranger types)
--Downhill comparison
--Tech, if applicable
--Night riding?

Thanks for any input!

Paging Dirtrider!

Will Dirtrider please pick up the white courtesy phone?

I have ridden directly across from there at Boxsprings Mountain (Big M on side as you merge the 60 and 215 in Riverside). That is similar to Black Mountain. It has a long fire road up and a couple great single tracks down. I will have to dig around but I used to have a Google Earth file. If you are interested, strava or Garmin Connect will most likely have files on them.

Ring Ring: This is Dirtrider

I do get to ride there when I travel and it is all the above. I think it is more like a open and flowy Calavera than Bk Mt. In fact, it's nothing like Bk Mt..There are hard pack trails for the most part, single tracks everywhere (but not too many like CV), rock rolls to dick around on, and mostly used by bikers.
The Jensen bike warehouse is right there and it's cool to park right in their lot, ride around the corner
to behind the Pepsi warehouse and the trail head is right there.
