I am looking to ad a rigid 29er or even a 26er for that matter to my collection, having owned a felt nine solo in the past i know i wouldn't mind having another 29er but am having trouble making a choice- i can buy a new 09 se stout (disc brake compatible but red which i am not fond of) for $399 shipped but in the lbs today i was checking out a Haro steel reserve 1.1 26er at $470+tax so if any one had any input on either of these i would appreciate it. |

Here's a review I found on the Stout. http://g-tedproductions.blogspot.com/20 ... r-non.html Looks like the red one you mentioned. I agree the red doesn't look so hot. The 2010 (green wood grain) looks badass IMO. http://www.sebikes.com/Singlespeed/29-Stout.aspx |

The weight doesn't bother besides the only reason i need it is to carry my son around riding the park or neighbor hood on one of those kangaroo seats that fit between the stem/seat post and all of my bikes have forks and it makes it a little tight for his feet. As for the budget well...the se is $399 and the haro would be about $500 with tax so that is what i would feel comfortable spending-why do you have something ? |
