Christ D., if I had to choose one style of beer that was the only one that would ever be produced from that time forward, it would be Belgian Trappist ale (preferably quadrupel).

That said, now sipping: Stone Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale.

Now stocking up for n00b rider rule: Ballast Point Victory at Sea and AleSmith Speedway Stout. Certainly other styles are on the list -- I will probably only bring San Diego beers -- if I ever get off my ass and join a DT ride.

Well Christ D, I wasn't sure before if you were IN Belgium, or here and FROM Belgium, but I guess you're currently at home. Right now I'm sipping a Belgian-style, but from Colorado, not Belgium. Nice color, fairly potent, but I think it's a little too sweetish for me (edit: but by the time I got to the end of the bottle I really liked it).

That style is much better tasting (to me, at least) when it's warmed a bit out of the fridge. Like between 55-60F.

Yeah, I'm one of those geeks you see at the bar cupping my hands around the tulip glass trying to warm it up.

drinking charles shaw 2008 shiraz, 2 buck chuck. there's nothing unusual about that, but i rode a couple tough rides this weekend, and all i wanted to do today was be drunk+, sit on ass, and click a mouse. drank almost 2 bottles of chuck since about 8am today, and been fucked up all day long. gonna try to finish this without barfing. go me.

i realize that this thread is supposed to be about good-tasting beverages and not getting blind drunk, but... well shit... $2 chuck is pretty decent swill and excellent value. i like it a lot better than 5l franzia, vella , or almaden. à ta santé.

Nothing wrong with that. Most beers here are served at 3 - 4 degrees Celcius.
