Theme song for yesterday’s ride.

Serves me right to suffer for bringing a Switchblade to a gun fight, when I had a perfectly good e-MTB at home. Think I’ll suffer again today.

little FEET :bang:

Yesterday I was Jones-zing for some Duck Feet while painting a landscape scene and listing to outlaw country on satellite radio all day long, but those cats weren't in their playlist...Damn!

Thanks Dan, you answered the call

Mike Bloomfield was playing like this in 1964, when the Beatles wanted to hold your hand, and Hendrix was just getting his first break in the backing band for the Isley Brothers.

Five years later Jimi was playing on another plane of existence, but a year after that he was gone at 27.
It took drugs longer to kill Mike — he made it to 37.

[edit: youtube pulled that video, which was a live version from Europe I’d never seen before, where Jimi was extra brilliant and extra f*cked up. But there’s no shortage of those clips…]

I fell asleep last night (appropriately considering the title), to this classic instrumental performed by a very talented slide guitarist from Tucson, who sadly passed away in 1997, and who was a family member of a bearded former DirtTreader who has moved back to that area.

They played this to a much smaller crowd last night in San Diego. Pretty f*ckin’ good concert. The new Rady Shell is a great venue.

They included this cool Dr.John song in their concert last night at SDSU, sounds great with their current New Orleans style twelve-piece band. Los Lobos opened for them, and both bands were in great form. Susan ripped up some great solos too. Unfortunately the sound at SDSU was loud but crappy — harsh, no nuance. Especially by comparison with the great sound at the Rady Shell on Monday, or at the Civic Center last time TTB was in town.
