so, I have a really nice Saris Thelma bike rack which I use for my minivan.
I just recently acquired a compact car which can only have a 1 1/4" hitch rack with a tongue weight of 100 pounds so I am now going to purchase a Saris T Bone bike rack.

anyone else here have multiple bike racks? just curious.

Too bad my rack won't be compatible on both cars. a cheap option would be to get a 2" to 1 1/4" adapter but that would extend the hitch mount 8" which would bring the tongue weight rating down to about 40 pounds.

Here's Vy :D

Sadly, I'm not tall enough for a roof rack :(

I have two also. First is a two bike platform one from Swagman which works on my G35 and also has a 2" adapter for the wife's SUV. Then I just purchased a 4 bike platform Xsport rack but that only has a 2" receiver.
Didn't like any of those racks that have the straps to attach on my G so I tossed a hitch on it and use the platform type. Easy to use and loads in seconds

Like the Veloster! Seems like that would stash a bike pretty well with the rear seat down? Probably have to remove the front wheel like I do with my coupe.

I've got a Yakima Holdup (1-1/4") that I've been thinking of unloading. I use it on my 4Runner which has a 2" receiver, so I use a 2" x 1-1/4" adapter. But I've hardly used it for the last year - I usually just stow my bike inside the 4Runner which is more secure.

Pretty sure it'll fit your Veloster but check Yakima's website for sure: http://www.yakima.com/shop/bike/hitch/holdup-1-14

Works great but has some cosmetic scratches, etc. I'll include the adapter for a 2" receiver. No extra charge for cobwebs.

Shoot me a PM if you're interested, I'll start thinking about a price!

I have a 2 inch Yakima Hold Up and I love it...easy to put on, easy to load, and unload...The 1 1/4 hitch does not accommodate the addition to make it hold 4 bikes...but can hold 2...

I forgot to mention, the entire roof is made of glass so I doubt I will install a roof rack. the closest one would be a seasucker.

chuck, email sent :)
the Yakima hold up looks nice. the only thing for me to worry about is the tongue weight capacity of my hitch receiver.

otherwise I am looking at the Saris T-bones rack which is on sale at Nashbar for $129 because the entire site is 20% off today.

I'm using a 1Up USA hitch mount tray with 1 1/4' hitch receiver. It's a fantastic rack and takes mere seconds to both install the rack and mount the bike.

I had a Yakima King Joe hatch mount rack, but it was stolen while I was out on a ride. The 1Up has a proprietary allen bolt that reduces the risk of theft, but it's easy enough to remove the 1Up and throw it in the trunk while on a ride.

At amazon you can get a self install tow hitch, any size, "Curt", for $140, 2 person install takes 30 minutes.
