I like this! I'm only partway through and having fun. How about the opening..."magnesium wheels...and the rest is history". Because we're all riding mag wheels now.

And the mention of a Huffy Penguin (I didn't remember the Penguin) led me to find this interesting bit of San Diego history: http://bikerodnkustom5.homestead.com/brainhistory63_muscle.html. Sure enough, in 1962 I was in Escondido busy modifying my POS Hawthorne bike exactly as described.

Back to the movie...

What? I remember that bitchin' Anglia, Skipper's Critter. Never knew the connection.

Check out the Harley behind McGoo...couldn't find it on ChopCult, but I'm sure it's there somewhere.

That movie was a great history lesson. It's a shame Mongoose feels kinda behind the curve mountain biking-wise, at least currently.
