It has been a year and a half since I lost my beloved Kemo to age. Last year I was not ready for this but this summer for my middle son's 10th birthday and early father's day surprise my wife brought home this... A eight week old female boxer. The kids came up with the name Piper. Oh, how I have forgot all the work that puppies need: Potty training Puppy proofing the house Sitting arrangements Vaccinations Potty training De=worming (discovered this morning) Cleaning up after accidents Potty training Setting boundaries (that is why she sleeps with me each night ) But you know what. It is fantastic to know that I have a companion that might be a great bike dog. At the very least, I will have a running partner, family guardian, and a home security system that only needs food and love. For those who have recently lost a dog, hang in there. A time will come when you will be ready and you will discover what you have been missing in the time your friend has been gone. |

Nice, Matt. It's like being a dad all over again. We've had Woody* (a.k.a. Wooooody; a.k.a. The Wooze; a.k.a. Woozer; a.k.a. My Little Moron) for about 7 months now. He's way more of a handful than Sammy was, but it's great to have a dog in the house again. Christ, if you ever make it out to So Cal again, I may be able to make you a deal on a gently used Golden Retriever (it depends on whether Goldens really do calm down at age 3 like everyone tells me). *Golden Retriever |

I smell varmint poontang. And the only good varmint poontang is dead varmint poontang, I think. |

Here's Petee, long hair Jack Russel. Inside he's a lap dog, outside he's a typical Jack. |

I think y'all should include the dog's name when you post 'em. They are sometimes as interesting as usernames. |

We had to take the puppy back. He was too much with the human puppies we already have, and someone who picked up one of his brothers wanted a sibling anyway, so it worked out. This is Jackson. We took him in as a foster for a couple of weeks to try him out with the girls. Attachment: Helping me work Attachment: I'm volunteering my expertise with his rescue. It's a great group of people with a lot of great dogs in need of homes. http://www.labsandmore.org/Public/Default.aspx I hope to fix this page soon... |
