I wanted to start this thread to see what shoes people are rockin for the "flats" or "Platform" pedals.

I just got my Five Ten Low Impact 2 from blueskycycling.com ($100 icl tax/ship, ships overnight if you're in SoCal). These things come as advertised :!: You position your feet on your pedals where you like em and point the bike downhill, your feet will not move, literally. Five Tens make rock climbing shoes so they used the same rubber from what I understand, and what an amazing experience I had. I had to lift my feet out of the pedals to adjust.

I had considered a few other options but in the end, from what I can tell, It'll be tough to match these shoes in grip. I'm stoked :bang:

I bought a pair last year. I'm a clipless fan but I thought for more FR stuff I would want flats. I hate flats. But I have a pair of Five Ten Impact 2 Low's in a 13 US.

They have about 4 hours of use and I have kept them in the origianl box. I can take pictures of the soles and shoes if anyone is interested. Near new just dusty. If anyone knows a giant that wears a 13 let me know. I paid about $100 at Beyond Bikes and I'll sell them for $75 to the public or $50 to DT members.

PM me if interested.

IMHO, the 510's are as good as it gets. They grip so well, you might as well be clipped in. I don't think you'll regret the purchase.

My size has been out of stock for like 6 months... 11.5 in the impact mid top.

5.10's are awesome.

Back in the day I used to buy a pair of vans and wear them for a year til I got a new pair. Then they became my bike shoes. When 5-10 first came out I thought they wouldn't be that much better.... but trust me they are - so much better. By all means keep your skate shoes til they wear out but you owe it to yourself to try the 5-10.

Laugh if you want, but if they made and spd I'd get the 5.10s over the 661 Filters. They would probably pair up perfectly with the CrankBros Mallets. Best of both worlds.................. :!: :!:
