I dont have the tools for the BB and fork, nor the knowledge.

I just installed my Reba today. It doesn't take any special tools. The star nut install was more difficult than I expected though. I have a Shimano bottom bracket tool (internal bearing type, not outboard bearing type) you can use, if that's type you have.

I have a piece of copper i cut off my headset remover that makes a pretty good star nut installer. just line it up and whack!

So the only special tools required would be for the BB? If so, I can do everything else, so maybe some BB help?

I just measured the BB's from both bikes,

Trek HT = 73
kHS Susp = 68

Is that gonna be a transfer problem?

You're going to need a new bottom bracket that's the correct width. Is it square taper? While you're at the shop buying one, buy a few feet of cable housing (both brake and derailleur) and a few extra cables (again, both brake and derailleur).

Also, you're going to need to press in a headset. You can take the one from the Trek or buy a new one. Headset install/removal typically needs special and expensive tools that are not often used, so I usually take that to the shop. Ldood has does this work himself with the common, much cheaper DIY tools that consist of:
Copper pipe headset remover
Long bolt, nut, and washers headset press

It does seem like good opportunity to do a bike maintenance thing, but you'll probably want to ride it sooner, rather than later.

Ok its done. Everything from the trek transfered over. Any ideas on getting the V-brake mounts off the rear triangle?

The V-brake posts should unscrew, but mine are still on there. There are flat sides where they attach to the frame for a wrench. My real suggestion is that you get a better fork than that Dart :P

I agree, although this transition from HT to soft tail has only cost me $500 (Incl frame, and some parts) The fork will cost more than the bike, so I have to save some $

if you go with the hacksaw, put tape around the braze-ons, but also cover your chain with a towel or something. i think i got some metal in the chain cuz it broke the next time i rode, and i never break chains...
