Anyone had a frame powder coated recently? Just looking to get an idea cost wise. I know colors and finish will be a factor, just checking for some recommendations. Powder Pros said 90-125. Another place I called said 125. Any experiences good or bad would be helpful.

Yeah, I was wondering about a SD local place. Here's a Santa Ana place about $125.00. Don't need one yet, just thinkin' ahead...

Had my old 5 Spot done for $125 at North County Powder Coating......was told that Bicycle Warehouse uses them. They did a nice job. Larry, for that price though, you can purchase a new Zion SS specific frame......that's what I would do before I PC'd the old frame....my $.02 worth.

Powder Pros is in El Cajon. May try them out.

Couldn't find any Zions though. Makes sense to get a new frame. Just have to keep it on the DL.... :ninja: Is that the House brand of Jenson?

+1 on North County Powder Coating. They did a beach cruiser and fork for me a couple years ago for $100. Basic single stage colors like red, black, blue, etc. are usually cheaper.

Yes, Jenson house brand. I haven't checked in a while, but they used to have them for cheap!

How much prep do you need to do on the frame before you bring it to them?

No prep required for NC Powder Coating other than taking whatever you don't want powder coated off. Bead blasting is included in the price.
