I should probably go look and see what model. Anyways does anyone have experience repairing a blown seam or could you at least tell me how much it will cost to take it in?? Thanks

I just had my Fox 32 TALAS rebuilt at Zumwalts for 90 bucks and they did a great job.

so you say rebuilt? What does that mean exactly?? And where did you take it, a local bike store or a big chain?

Also, I have 90 thats ok, but I kind of wanted to repair it myself so I could have the experience. Plus it would just be the 20 dollar seals and lube I gotta buy.

He mentioned the bike store name, a quick google search will send you to this

http://zcbikes.com/

Looks pretty local to me.

And rebuilt will generally eman new seals, new fluids.

What Paul said.

Seals are 20 bucks, fluid(S) 30 bucks. I thought about doing the rebuild myself as well. The forty for labor combined with the 97 step process to rebuild was a no brainer for me. I know most peeps are capable of rebuilding a fork, but in my case I was going to take my fork to the shop in one piece or in a box of parts (some missing I'm sure). Figure out what year and model your fork is and go to Fox's web-site and check out the on-line manual for detailed directions on a rebuild.

Good luck

I've done the 32 mm and 36 mm fox forks and they're pretty simple. on the 32 mm's you'll need a 6 point 26 mm socket and on the 36 mm forks you'll need a 32 mm socket to take off the top caps, so if you don't have these, add those to your cost comparison.

i did a diy rebuild on 2 rockshox a while back. it was pretty easy. all the documentation should be available on their website. just pick up the seals and oil at your local and go for it.

one tip i have though: make sure the socket you get to unleash the lowers is flush. if there's any tapering going on, it will round off the nut.

thanks guys I actually got my fork repaired at the warehouse for 75 about a month ago. It works great now, I was worried I would screw it up more. Next time the seals break I will probably attempt to fix it myself.
