dante it sounds to me like you just need an XC bike. You seem to want to ride your bike not push it, and you dont seem to have a need to tempt fate so go with an xc frame. I have had my KHS (dont necessarlyi reccommend but..)for easily 5000 dirt miles, every possible situation, and it still works great. It has never kept me from noble or wherever, especially since i probably walk more downhill than up cuzz im a pussy. as someone said, get the "light weight weenie" bike. Then you wont need vehicle assist. !
