So i've had my i950 about a month now and love it. I originally went without the remote cuz i wasnt sure that i wanted the extra clutter on my handlebars. Now, like my wife often does, I've changed my mind and decided I wanted the remote lever. Got it in the mail today and i was super fired up to put it on. Trouble is it came without instructions. I'm also having a hard time finding mounting and routing instructions on the internet for this particular remote. I checked the garage forum on here and the forums on MTBR, but no luck. Does anyone have one of these that could post pics or some instructions on which parts go where? I'm also confused cuz the remote is supposed to replace the lock of my lock on grips, but when i put it on the grip then the handlebar the screw provided isnt long enough to clamp the lock into place..... Am i retarded???? HELP PLEASE?!! Thanks in advance.

PS: This is going on an '11 Giant Reign, if that matters.

Try using the screw from your original lock to see if it's longer?

I had mine on the bar first cuz I was too lazy to pull the grip to do it right, then the original screw fell out so I pulled my grip to use it "correctly" to replace the lock and just used the grips screw.

Thanks for the response Crap..... I already tried that, the Original Grip screw is 2.5 mm VS. the KS screw being a 3mm. So that doesnt work out either. i also need to see how you hook up the cable to the seatpost itself. i dont get how im supposed to hook it into the seat actuator. Do i have to remove the handle altogether? Thanks again for your help.

Does the lever version seat head have the remote attachment bits on it?

Sounds like for the 950 the lever is removed by pulling one bolt and then you have to replace it with the new little remote puller bit. Probably best to email kind shock if your kit didn't have that piece?

That is correct. You can order the parts from KS and you can get them in different colors as well, including the seat post collar.

You basically turn the 950 into a 950r.

The handlebar lever is made to work with ODI lock on grips and ODI compatible types too

It will also just clamp on the bars with no problem.

I have ODI grips but I clamped the remote to the bars and just butted it up against the inside grip clamp.

After going for a downshift and instead dropping my seat, I'll be moving the lever to the left side of the handlebar . . .
