Hey everyone, my name is Eric. I'm just getting into riding after about a 15 year absence. I live in Santee about 1 mile from Mission Trails trail head. I have a 12 year old son that rides with me sometimes. Looking for anyone that is willing to show a noob some skills. Look forward to seeing you all on the trails.

cosmok, watch the calendar for rides. If they dont say "advanced / fast paced" then most likely noobs are welcome. Doesnt hurt to check though. In a few weeks I will riding pretty regularly at mission trails and will post up when I do

Spring Canyon is a great place to get started again. Until you get comfortable climbing and descending again, there's some fun twisty and fairly level singletrack in the middle of the canyon to get you reaquainted with the bike. Once you get your skills back there are a bunch of fun trails you can test your reacquired skills on.

In case you don't know Spring Canyon by that name, it's the canyon north of the first 52 undercrossing. Take the fireroad from the Mast Blvd. parking lot out to Mission Trails park, turn right and head north up into Spring. Look for singletrack on your left about a third of a mile after you pass under the freeway.
