Hello, Chris here.
I went on my first ride with this website group in LPQ last night. Nice to meet cool guys that ride in my area. I live close to the Camino Ruiz Park trail on the Mira Mesa ridge, and start my rides from my house. Let me know if anyone wants to meet up for rides starting from the park.
I'm the owner of C.E.P., I sell bike lights and batteries. I have Magic Shine lights and batteriers in stock and will also be trying out a new brand in the next few weeks.
I'll see you on the trail, Chris.

Well cool to know that you ride on Wednesdays here. Do you ride with Mike and Larry? LLet me know about next week. Plus if I don't work too much the next two days I'll go out again (time to test the upgraded MS battery).
How is the MS1400 (MJ-816) treating you? I love mine (separate button rocks), my next order will be from a different company that will include some helmet lights.

I don't know Mike or Larry. We ride from Canyonside Park. It's a group of guys I started riding with a couple years ago, before I joined DT.

The MJ-816 on the bars is going to be a HUGE improvement over what I've been using (Minewt USB & old Cateye halogen). The Minewt will go on my helmet and the Cateye in the camelback as backup. I just got my battery pack built up this weekend, so I've only taken the 816 around the neighborhood. I can tell the o-ring bar mount isn't going to keep the light secure. I already suspected this and ordered an Electron mount from chainreactioncycles almost 3 weeks ago but haven't received it yet :x

Anyway, hope to see you out there one of these days/nights!

Glad you like the light. On my first ride I noticed the light shaking around on fast bumpy trails, and thought (man I have to do something about this). But by the second ride it didn't bother me, or I just got use to it. I was going to do a test with zip ties and wrapping the bar with an old tube but haven't got around to it since it doesn't bother me anymore. Still might do the test to share with people who have broken their O rings. The zip ties won't bother me because I leave my lights on all the time anyway, plus they are cheep if you buy them in bulk.

Both, they have an upgraded one with a LCD screen on it (very cool) and they told me the factory is tests a new supplier and will have the results next week.
I have the upgraded one in stock, let me know if you want one.

If you need a new o-ring for your MS, just go down to Home Depot and buy a pack of them. All different sizes and thicknesses in the plumbing department for 2-3 dollars a pack. You can get one sized right that will be tight enough to minimize slippage.
