The power of the GREEN is strong with this one...

First and foremost MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! I hope you found peace and happiness with your family and loved ones.

That being said, time to get serious and get ready for some heavy work.

So far we have 8 from the Meet-Up site, 9 from DT, two from MTBR and several from the SDMBA site. Overall, I am hopeful we see 20. I would love more as we have a lot of trial to cut. A large showing will go a great distance towards making solid points with Ranger Ed.

Rodster has already done the leg work to get us here but is now hobbled with medical issues. We are all needed to do the lifting for him now.

Please show up, even if it is for just a few hours. We have enough work for 50 or more!

See you at the Miner's Ridge Parking lot on Saturday, Dec 27 at 8 am.

The trail head parking area might be jammed so if you can carpool or park at Blk Mt comm park just west on this area and carpool in from there it might help. Great to see so many coming to help out

Beautiful day and perfect dirt to build a trail... and it was nice meeting y'all DT'ers out there today.
Pretty good turn-out, don't ya' think bankerboy?
Ranger Ed said several times how happy and impressed he was with the work that was done.

Huge thanks to all that made it out today on such short notice. You knocked it out of the park in terms of what we got done and the quality of what was done. The rangers were really stoked to see how much progress was made in just a few short hours.

Bankerboy took lot's of pics. I'll let those stand as testimony to how sweet this new singletrack will be.

Slow on the draw (nice 3 hour nap) so pics are forthcoming. I will start a trail report thread and post the link here. In the meantime, Ranger Ed sent me the following:

Thanks again guys for helping to organize the work out there and making it happen. It’s really motivating to see so much get done so quickly after some of the drudgery of the clearing work. It might be a long shot, but it would be amazing if we could complete these trails this winter. For a number of reasons, I think this is the most challenging section we will face.

As Rod stated, just about any Saturday, if you are feeling the need to take out some aggression, there will be opportunities. Also, just to help move it along, there will be a few midweek oppertunites to assist with next section. This will be dirty, messy, hard work. It involves brushing and tread work as the brushing progresses. Once I know more I will post it up.

The trail-building conditions were perfect today, and a large crew was well equipped and well directed. It's a big project, but it got off to a fantastic start. It was all good, but I especially liked seeing the road crossing and the armored end of today's work come together. And having Jackson there was pretty cool, too . . . .
