Little pre work spin this morning, 3 people, stopped, letting walkers go up and the lady was whining about how "bikes aren't supposed to be there"

Buddy informed her otherwise and moved on. I was stopped, standing, waiting for her to pass and she give me an ttitude telling me "this is riduclous" etc.

I bit my tongue and held off expressing my true feelings.

Nothing has changed right? Cam Ru is open to bikes? Someone school me if I am wrong.

LPQ just gets to be more of a joke with every day that goes by.

If she read the signs at the top or bottom of the trail she would see that bikes are allowed.

A sign of the apocalypse?

I've been trying real hard.

Springfest tonight & tomorrow Canaan (and anyone else for that matter) not sure if you've been there before but live bands & good times in the neighborhood.

Good for you. "Calm down" is my new mantra, so I know where you're coming from.

I love the local events in the AG/San Carlos/Del Cerro area (like Springfest and fireworks at the lake on the 4th) -- I'll probably stop by after my younger boy's LL game.

We are evil  and should be exterminated

Besides, we only care about ourselves, don't give a damn about the area, and are a bunch of punk ass kids with malicious attitudes.

I love unedjumcated people

Damn straight it's open to bikes. Be nice, and let them know how the Multiuse Trails Coalition pushed that trail for years, making sure it could open and be there for her. Remind her to look at the kiosk at the top, and to be thankful for the tread repairs designed by a mountainbiker (you might leave out the part that it was to repair issues we warned the Rangers about during construction) that keep her happy and safe.

A certain "not friend" organization has been spreading a LOT of "bikes aren't allowed on any singletracks" garbage far and wide lately. We've been accosted twice by runners on Cobblestone while riding with the kids. One had the balls to stop when I did and revealed that his source of information was the douchebag misinformation factory that your City Council members and County Supervisors like to suck up to as "environmentalists".

Both those runners are now buried alongside the trail. Good for the plants.

While not necessarily helpful in the grander scheme of things a simple gesture can provide boundless satisfaction and feel really good...

I've been riding there after work a lot lately and have generally had pleasant encounters with non-mtb trail users (including the equestrians). I did come across an older lady that was walking with her husband that was completely rude.

We were on the main fireroad just before the Ranch House Crossing, I was waiting about 25ft back while a jogger was running between her and two other MTBers. As I waved at the guys on bike (got waves in return) and said hello to her husband (hello back) she launched into a tirade about how the trails were not intended as a bike or running path and that we (bikers and runners) should find a new place to ride. I merely wished her a good day and pedaled on my merry way.

The thing that irritates me the most about LPQ is equestrians riding with their dogs off leash. I don't know about you guys, but having a mastiff burst out of the brush on the Cobbles trail and haul ass after me is not my idea of a great ride. I ran into a ranger that was doing work in one of their sensitive areas by the waterfall and let him know that there was two mastiffs running loose. As we were talking a couple of equestrains appeared and started calling to the dogs, so he hopped on his ATV and went and had himself a little talk with them.

Good on ya for calling that out. My most serious bike crash came when an off leash dog supposedly came sprinting out of the bushes right in front of me during a ride. I say "supposedly" because I have no memory of about 5 hrs on that day, after landing on my head and getting a pretty serious concussion.

Mastiffs, eh? The perfect dog choice for the GENTRY. They clear the trail of Rabble for their Masters.

Sounds like the lady I saw. Heavy, grumpy and older.
