Not quite sure where this should be posted. Usually one day on the weekend I pump the tires of my bikes. I did the same today. One bike, a newer one, I pumped it up to 30lbs like the last 10 weeks. About an hour after pumping it up, KABOOM!. The tubeless tire had been on about ten weeks. I thought I cleaned up the Stan's on the floor, walls, furniture, … I entered the room a few hours later and there was Stan's on a bike seat and floor. I looked up and the ceiling fan and light fixture was coated. That was quite a Kaboom! I am glad it blew out now instead of a bikepacking trip. |

I had a tubed one blow up at a stoplight on a hot day in the back of my car. Thought it was a backfire by the car next to me until I got that unmistakeable inner tube smell. Once a tubeless tire is seated, I don’t see any reason to store them at a higher pressure than you ride them, even a slow leaker. |
