Bent my ROS9+ frame in a crash before the vid, needed a 29+ replacement that would still be able to use my 142mm Onyx and Hadley rear wheels, enter Surly Krampus with gnot boost rear dropout. So far rides pretty well and gnot boost setup worked flawlessly.

Got a proper shakedown ride Sunday ~12 miles. Almost ate **** due to bars not tight enough on a small drop, one grip also needed some tightening plus seatpost slipped a bit causing some knee pain. Drive side tension slipped a tiny bit as well.

When I built this Krampus up late last year, in the process of cuttting the steerer what I thought was the mark I drew was not, only left about 1/2" to spare. So put some old Answer 20mm riser bar0s on but not ideal to me in height and Uber narrow like 760mm

Those new trails look great! My friend Carol (aka LeucadianGirl) recently rode and photo’ed them. Preskitt is a great place in several regards!

Also, speaking of singlespeeds, it is good to see that Surly is still around (with a new and I hope not ill-advised foray into e-MTB’s) and that Kona has been pulled back from the brink of oblivion (although time will tell).

Yeah I moved to Preskitt late December(maybe change my user name to preskitt_ pete?), I thought these trails were way out in the woods when I first heard about them a few months back but turned out right next to 89, about a mile and a half from my house. Last time I was over there to walk the dog over a year ago there was nothing but a small crappy parking lot but good trails to Goldwater Lake. Sounds like they are only about a third done with trail-building at Bean Peak. Been busy with house but will start riding more.

I think most people were awaiting a refresh on Krampus and Karate, but if the cargo ebike can subsidize that WTH.

Looks like there's a move afoot to Californicate AZ and other National Forest, open for comments
