I saw this up on the east end of the mesa near T1; thought it was a rattler sunning itself across the singletrack, slammed on the brakes 5 feet away from it and flipped over the handlebars. It was during dusk and the snake was 5 ft long; holy crap, freaked me out. Good thing it was a king snake instead.
