Since I'm in the Southbay, is the smoke bad in the North County, anybody see it from there house?

Yesterday the smoke from the Camp Pendelton fire got a bit thick when the wind blew it south in Carlsbad in the pm. I bet RHS and Dirty Boo and dfacerdm got a whiff as well.

I saw flames from the top of Melrose in Vista. I hope this doesn't cancel Storm the Beach race on Sunday.

When I left work yesterday there was a huge thick cloud of smoke coming from Pendleton. Pete & I went up to the YMCA & took some photos. You could the fire clearly. We went back later in the evening & even though it's a horrible thing it was beautiful as it glowed against the dark sky. and no - I'm not a pyro...We took more photos which I'm sure Pete will post soon.

Today the sky in Vista is pretty much blue - no smoke...however there is a brush fire up by Las Pulgas so the I5 is now closed heading south from Pulgas.

Dud! Las Pulgas is where the Storm the Beach Cyclocross race is this Sunday!! This probably mean it'll be cancelled. Figures since i'm ready for the race. It's Al-Queda I bet...and i was even going to go pre-ride the course today too.
